ASAHI Takeover of Coronet Peak Night Ski
Features
360 Video Booth • Custom Branding • Instant Digital Sharing • Social Media Engagement • Competition Integration • User-Generated Content • Fully Managed Activation
Moment Booth NZ partnered with Asahi at Coronet Peak Night Ski to deliver an interactive 360 video brand activation designed to get guests involved in the takeover and create branded content they could instantly take away and share.
Rather than simply adding another branded touchpoint to the mountain, the activation gave Night Ski guests something to actively participate in.
The concept was simple:
Spin. Tag. Go in the draw to win a Superpass for two.
Guests stepped onto the 360 platform, created their own slow-motion video and received the finished content digitally, ready to share.
Across the activation, 84 individual 360 video sessions were captured, with many sessions featuring groups of friends taking part together.
And following the success of the activation, Asahi booked Moment Booth NZ for a second activation at Coronet Peak.

The Brief
Create an activation people want to be part of
A brand takeover at Coronet Peak Night Ski already has an incredible environment.
The challenge was to create an activation that added to that experience rather than simply placing branding around it.
Asahi wanted an interactive element that could:
-
Encourage Night Ski guests to actively engage with the activation
-
Create a fun experience that fitted naturally into the mountain environment
-
Generate branded digital content
-
Encourage social sharing and tagging
-
Integrate with a competition mechanic
-
Operate smoothly within a busy Night Ski environment
-
Give guests another reason to interact with the Asahi takeover
The activation needed to be quick, simple and visually engaging while delivering something guests genuinely wanted to take away.

Our Activation Solution
High-energy 360 content built for social sharing
Moment Booth NZ brought our 360 Video Booth to Coronet Peak and created a fully branded video experience for the Asahi Night Ski takeover.
Guests stepped onto the platform individually or with friends while the rotating camera captured a dynamic slow-motion video around them.
The finished video was processed with the activation branding and made available digitally, giving guests their own piece of content from the night.
The process was designed to be incredibly simple:
Step on. Spin. Receive. Tag.
That simplicity was important.
Night Ski guests were there to ski, socialise and enjoy the event. The activation needed to fit naturally into that environment without requiring a lengthy process or explanation.

Spin. Tag. Win.
Turning a 360 video into a competition mechanic
The 360 experience wasn't operating as a standalone entertainment feature.
It became part of the wider Asahi activation.
Guests were encouraged to create their video, share or tag their content and go into the draw to win a Coronet Peak Superpass for two.
This added another reason to participate while connecting the physical activation with digital engagement.
Instead of simply seeing Asahi branding around Night Ski, guests could interact with the campaign, create something themselves and take that branded experience onto their own phones and social channels.
Experience → Content → Tag → Competition Entry
The 360 Booth became the bridge between the physical event and the online campaign.

Taking a Brand Activation Up the Mountain
Delivering experiential marketing in an alpine environment
Coronet Peak isn't a traditional event venue — and that's exactly what makes activations like this exciting.
Delivering a 360 video activation on a ski mountain requires planning around access, equipment movement, setup, operating conditions, guest flow and the unique environment of an alpine venue.
Moment Booth NZ managed the activation from arrival and setup through to operation and pack-down.
Our role wasn't simply to supply a 360 Booth.
It was to deliver a fully managed activation that could operate reliably within the wider Night Ski event.
This allows brands and event teams to focus on the campaign while our team handles the technology, guest experience and activation delivery.

Creating Content Guests Actually Want
Putting the guest inside the campaign
One of the biggest strengths of a 360 brand activation is that the guest becomes part of the content.
Rather than being handed promotional material or simply seeing campaign signage, participants create something featuring themselves.
That changes the interaction.
The Asahi branding becomes part of a video associated with a memorable night skiing at Coronet Peak.
For the guest, it's a fun video from their night.
For the brand, it's personalised, shareable content connected directly to the activation.
And because the content is delivered digitally, guests can take it with them immediately.

The Results
84 video sessions — and another activation booked
The Asahi x Coronet Peak activation generated strong participation throughout Night Ski.
84 Video Sessions
84 individual 360 video sessions captured during the activation.
Group Engagement
Many sessions included multiple guests, meaning the total number of people interacting with the activation extended beyond the session count alone.
Branded Content
Every session created a digital piece of content connected to the Asahi activation.
Social Engagement
Guests were encouraged to tag and share their content as part of the Superpass competition mechanic.
Repeat Booking
Following the activation, Asahi booked Moment Booth NZ for a second Coronet Peak activation.
The results demonstrate something important about experiential marketing:
Create an experience → Encourage participation → Generate content → Extend the interaction beyond the event.

Why 360 Brand Activations Work
Creating experiences designed to be shared
People naturally want to capture memorable experiences.
A 360 activation gives brands an opportunity to become part of that content.
Instead of asking guests to photograph an advertisement, the brand gives them an experience worth filming in the first place.
For brands, 360 video activations can help:
-
Increase engagement at an event
-
Encourage guests to stop and participate
-
Generate branded user-generated content
-
Create social-ready video
-
Support competitions and giveaways
-
Extend brand exposure beyond the physical activation
-
Create memorable interactions with the campaign
This makes 360 activations particularly effective for:
-
Sponsorship activations
-
Ski field and tourism activations
-
Festivals
-
Sporting events
-
Product launches
-
Brand takeovers
-
Music events
-
Experiential marketing campaigns
More Than a 360 Booth
Building an experience around the campaign
The Asahi x Coronet Peak Night Ski activation demonstrates the difference between simply putting a 360 Booth at an event and integrating one into a wider campaign.
The technology itself is only one part of the activation.
The experience connected the Asahi brand, Coronet Peak Night Ski, digital video content, social sharing and a Superpass competition into one simple guest journey.
For guests, it was fun, quick and shareable.
For the brand, it created interaction and digital content around the Night Ski takeover.
And with 84 video sessions and a second activation already booked, the experience delivered a platform that Asahi could use again.
